Goals and Future Prospect
The missions of the Center are to provide sufficient computing facilities
and to create a high-quality computing environment that improves the efficiency
of teaching, research, and administration, and achieves the goals of the
e-University.
Short-term Goals
Develop
and integrate administration information and electronic service system.
Establish
electronic/computerized teaching and research environment.
Maintain
a stable computer and information network.
Support
administrative affairs, teaching, research, management and strategic planning.
Implement
Fu Jen administration system.
Long-term Goals
Enhance
the effectiveness and efficiency of Fu Jen administration, service and management.

the quality of teaching and learning.

After the integration in 2002, the Computer and Information Networking Center
is dedicated to the IT planning and collaboration among administrative and
academic units within the University community. The services currently provided

delivery infrastructure to facilitate the administrative affairs,

that provides students, faculty and staff with remote dial-up and on-campus
access on the basis of a "single sign on" authentication to the
campus backbone network and campus computing resources,
Implementation
of a multilingual homepage,
Installation
of the Blackbaud fundraising software for the Educational Advancement Office,
Implementation
of the Alumni Development System for the Alumni and University Relations
Office,
Installation
of the Financial Accounting system for the Accounting Office,
An Integrated
General Affairs system for the Office of General Affairs,
Campus
Backbone Network & Internet Services,
Implementation
of a Security system to guard against computer hackers, viruses, and spam
mail,
Installation
of ADSL in University dormitories,

service for the new General Medical Building,

and maintenance of the facilities in University-wide computer laboratories,
