Fu Jen holds fast to the mission of a Catholic University and is committed to developing holistic education and fostering a diversified learning environment in which its students can develop the gestalt personality with ethical thinking and increase their professional competitiveness. Fu Jen places equal emphasis on teaching and research, and strives to elevate its research reputation.

Fu Jen promotes interdisciplinary teaching and research projects in order to meet the needs of an ever-changing environment. With emphasis on international collaboration, the University seeks to meet the globalization challenge and gear to the international conventions.

Teaching Goals and Objectives

To identify areas of strength and to promote growth and excellence, Fu Jen will: Carry out the ideals of holistic education of the Catholic University, educate students for service to the society, and strengthen holistic education fundamental courses such as "The Philosophy of Life," "Introduction to University Studies," and "Professional Ethics."

Emphasize depth instead of breadth and quality instead of quantity in terms of the development of individual department and graduate program, give awards to excellent departments and graduate programs with competitive advantages, and enhance all-English education programs.

To promote the exchange of teaching methods and experiences and to improve educational quality, the University will:

Recruit faculty with exceptional academic or professional credentials, implement educational assessment and evaluation in order to seek continual improvement of the educational quality, invite internationally renowned scholars as guest professors, and engage in the teacher exchange program with sister schools worldwide.

Encourage students to attend short-term study abroad programs and build up student's professional competence.

To implement strategic alliance and to achieve competitive advantages, Fu Jen will:

Combine the regional resources and promote collaboration with the industry.

Implement interdisciplinary EMBA program and Joint Degree Program with universities worldwide.
