The Office of Human Resources
The Office of Human Resources is responsible for dealing with personnel
matters in the University. The Office of Human Resources deals with all
matters of personnel management for faculty and staff employed
Ą@in the University institutions. A major responsibility is ensuring
the University meets its social and legal responsibilities
towards its employees with regard to terms and conditions of
employment, quality of working life, the promotion of a healthy
and safe environments and systems of work, and equal
opportunities for all.
To that end it is concerned with
ĄŻĄ@The development and implementation of human resource
strategies and the provision of the advice and support
necessary to enable Departments to integrate the strategic
management of people within their organizational aims
and objectives.
ĄŻĄ@The formulation and development of personnel policies and
procedures, codes of good practice, comprehensive guidance
notes, rules and regulations.
ĄŻĄ@The provision of specialist advice on employment
legislation, contracts of employment, work permits,
discipline, grievance, redundancy, retirement, and
insurance.
ĄŻĄ@The preparation and production of contracts of employment.
ĄŻĄ@The preparation of a comprehensive program of training
and development for all staff.
ĄŻĄ@Pay, grading and establishments, as well as provision of
support and advice to Departments on recruitment,
selection and promotion.
ĄŻĄ@Appraisal, leave of absence, substitute teaching and
temporary employment.
ĄŻĄ@The provision of a confidential welfare service.
