Student Counseling Center
Student Counseling Center
Situated on the first floor of the Ching Hsin Tang, the Student Counseling Center is led by a professional team of well educated counselors who are knowledgeable in areas of special use for campus guidance, such as family relationships, relationships and communication, Gestalt Therapy (self-awareness as the central idea), and psychological and spiritual self-cultivation. The Center currently has twelve full time teachers, five of whom have Ph.D. degrees. Three of the team members are Ph.D. candidates, and four have master¡¦s degrees. The later offer counseling and guidance based on training in Objective Relationships in Psychological Analysis, Family and Marriage, Cognitive Behavior, Narrative Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Integrity of Eastern and Western Psychology, Neuro-linguistics, and related areas.
As the term suggests, the Student Counseling Center provides service mainly for students and the teaching and administrative staff of Fu Jen Catholic University. The Center assists the wider university community in providing regular activities which welcome students and provide opportunities for valuable self-understanding, such as Growth Groups (diverse workshops), Lunch Dates, and lectures on mental heath. Please feel free to contact the counseling teachers at any time. In addition, several kinds of psychological tests are available to help students understand more about their interests, personal identity, and career. Meanwhile, every week we provide almost 110 hours for individual counseling. Generally, each counseling period takes 90 minutes (individual talking: 50 minutes, break: 10 minutes; writing of the record: 30 minutes). If students are interested in finding someone to listen to them or talk with, they are welcome to make an appointment.
